Welcome to Craig Hospital
Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado is exclusively dedicated to spinal cord injury (SCI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation, and research. We have treated more than 27,000 patients since 1956 - more spinal cord injury patients than any other single facility in the United States, and each year treat patients from 47-50 U.S. states. Our spinal cord injury rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation and research programs are designated by the U.S. National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) as Model Systems Centers. Craig Hospital is funded by NIDRR to be the National Data and Statistical Center (NDSC) for the Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems 2006-2011.
Craig is a private, non-profit, freestanding hospital that has been rated every year in the Top Ten Rehabilitation Hospitals by US News and World Report since the ratings began twenty years ago. In 2005 and again in 2010 Craig Hospital was granted Magnet ® recognition status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Craig is only one of two freestanding rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S. to be granted this prestigious designation.
Craig has earned the recognition as one of the finest rehabilitation and research hospitals for spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury in the world because of the successes of our "graduates." Patients rehabilitated at Craig achieve higher levels of return to home, independence, and return to school or work because our healthcare approach addresses the whole person in all aspects of life. At the heart of Craig Hospital's success is a talented and experienced team of physicians, staff and volunteers with extraordinary longevity, who have created a powerful culture of healing, unsurpassed anywhere.
